Most people can't say that they have been sewing since birth... I can. My father had his singer industrial sewing machine in my room and would sew while I laid in the crib. As I grew, he taught me the fundamentals of sewing which I was able to outfit all my dolls. But I don't count those as my sewing years.

When I was 10 years old, my parents sent me to sewing classes for the summer. This is where I learned how to construct garments, pick out fabrics, and really use my imagination. After graduating from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with an Associate Arts Degree in Fashion Design in 1993, I worked for various designers for 4-5 years. In 1997, I co-owned and designed women's apparel for a wholesale business called PASSION EARTH. This was a dream opportunity in that I had a chance to flex my designer muscles and see ideas from a sketch to a completed garment in boutiques all around the country.  Several years later, I started a custom Handbag and Accessories line called Grand Handbags and Accessories where I conducted in-home handbag parties for those interested in designing their own handbags.  I provided fabric samples and handbag samples to make the experience easy, fun, and most of all creative!

I hung up my measuring tape for a while to be the 'best mommy ever' to my two children but never really satisfying the design itch.  Now back in my home town of Hawaii, I feel like my creative juices are overflowing.  If you are needing custom garments or accessories made give me a call.  How about needing a great idea patterned and sampled or looking for a contract sewer?  Give me a call!
